Title: Unique Case of Recurrent Acute Stent Thromobosis in ACS

Abstract

A 67-year-old male presented with ACS – Anterior wall STEMI. Loading dose of Ticagrelor 180mg and  intravenous (IV) glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (GP IIb/IIIa) inhibitor infusion for 6  hours after primary percutaneous intervention. Despite this, several episodes of stent thrombosis occurred during the subsequent days. Because of this, Ticagrelor was switched to Pasugrel and the patient was loaded with 60mg of Pasugrel. Patient is doing well. Further studies are needed to better understand the exact mechanism behind the mechanisms of in-stent thrombosis with newer P2Y12 inhibitors associated stent thrombosis.
