Echo evaluation of pulmonary hypertension
Abstract
Symptoms and signs of Pulmonary hypertension are non-specific. Patients often undergo extensive diagnostic testing. The purpose of diagnostic testing is to screen and confirm that PH exists and identify the underlying cause so that appropriate treatment can be administered. Echocardiography is the initial test of choice for screening pulmonary hypertension. This presentation will highlight multiple modalities to determine the pulmonary pressure and to identify the potential causes and impact of pulmonary hypertension. An interesting case will be presented to showcase the power of Echocardiography in the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension.
