Title: Complete heart block revealing neonatal lupus: A case report

Abstract

MoroccoNeonatal lupus (NL) is a rare acquired autoimmune disease characterised by cutaneous, cardiac and systemic abnormalities in neonates whose mothers have antibodies to the autoantigen type A (Ro/SSA) or B (La/SSB), cardiac lesions, particularly heart block, are permanent and cause significant morbidity and mortality.We report a case of complete heart block due to neonatal lupus who benefited from surgical implantation of an epicardial pacemaker with good clinical outcome. 

Biography

Ech-chebab Mohammed earned his doctorate at the age of 27 from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Oujda, Morocco. He completed his specialty degree in pediatrics in 2019 and a university diploma in pediatric cardiology at the University of Paris, France, in 2021. Currently, he holds a position as an assistant professor in neonatology at the Neonatology Department of the Mohamed VI University Hospital Center in Oujda, Morocco.
